Early Retirement Package 2

Only available to Early Retirees who retired prior to September 1, 2011 and chose Package 2.

Under this package, you participate in the following benefits only (regardless of the benefits in effect before retirement):

  • Life Insurance Plan 3 ($25,000 flat amount)
  • Accidental Death and Dismemberment Plan 3 ($25,000 flat amount)
  • Extended Health Care Plan 3
    • Outside of Canada Emergency Travel Benefits
    • lower cost alternative (LCA) prescription medicines (80% reimbursement)
    • brand name prescription medication with no LCA (75% reimbursement)
    • 100% of other eligible health related expenses
    • semi-private hospital accommodation to a maximum of $24 per day
  • Dental Care Plan 4
    • $50 annual deductible
    • 50% reimbursement, basic & major services
    • combined maximum of $1,000 per person, per calendar year for basic and major services

Dental Care Plan 4
  • 50% coverage for basic preventative/restorative treatments
  • 50% coverage for major restorative treatments
  • $1,000 combined maximum for basic and major treatments per covered person per calendar year
  • $50 deductible per family per calendar year
  • no orthodontic coverage

Note: You can choose either the single or family coverage package for Extended Health Care and Dental Care, but both must be the same.

Note: This coverage is not tied to the employee group that you retired from, so your retirement benefits will be different from the benefits in effect prior to your retirement, and you will not be affected by any changes made to your former employee group's plans.
