Midwifery receives public funding
In April 2009, the Alberta government introduced public funding for midwifery services, eliminating the need for its coverage under ASEBP’s EHC plan. As a result, this benefit is no longer part of ASEBP’s EHC coverage.

Alberta Government cuts chiropractic coverage
ASEBP is aware that the Government of Alberta has decided to remove coverage for chiropractic services from the Alberta Health Care Insurance Plan (AHCIP). ASEBP recognizes the important role chiropractors play as part of your health care team and remains committed to supporting your overall health. As such, the chiropractic coverage available to ASEBP's covered members through the Extended Health Care benefit will remain in place, subject to existing plan maximums.
