Coverage Summary

ASEBP’s Extended Disability Benefits (EDB) plan is a total disability plan. If you become incapable of working because of a disability, ASEBP’s Extended Disability Benefits provide protection against loss of income and ensure you receive appropriate treatment during the recovery process. ASEBP works with you and the appropriate health-care providers to design individualized plans to assist you through the recovery period and prepare for your return to work. If your disability precludes a return to work, ASEBP will assist you in managing your lifestyle.

ASEBP’s Coordinated Claims Management (CCM) Division is made up of service teams consisting of an EDB Intake Facilitator and two or more Claims Facilitators, each responsible for a specific group of school jurisdictions participating in EDB. If you become disabled, the team will provide you with coordinated service. The Claims Facilitator, your employer (school board), employee representative (or union) and health-care professionals will work together to support and assist (where possible) in the recovery and rehabilitation process.
